Doubled Walled Tanks & Tanks with Dikes
Engineering data shows that 1/8" thick polyethylene would be sufficient to retain the amount of liquid product that the "Original DikeTank" will hold. We make the DikeTank from 1/4" thick material. Some companies use pigments in their materials to disguise the fact that they are using recycled materials. We at Bulk Systems realize that pigments have their own characteristics and compatibility to chemicals and they are not usually the same as polyethylene. For safety sake, we don't' use any pigments in our tanks. We use only natural color, virgin, high density, linear link polyethylene to manufacture our quality product. Although safety was the first and foremost consideration when designing the "Original DikeTank" line, function and appearance were also prime considerations. Rectangular shapes take up less room than conventional cylindrical shapes do and when the length and width are different there is the option of turning the tank 90 degrees to fit it in a tight spot. All "Original DikeTanks" come apart and each portion of the unit weighs approximately 1/2 of the total weight indicated below. This means that the 110 gallon capacity "Original DikeTank" is made of two portions, each weighing 55lbs. Each portion will easily fit through a 36" door and can be carried by almost anyone.

The Original DikeTank line of double wall tanks is designed to give the extra protection needed when hazardous liquids are kept in close proximity with people and/or might represent a significant danger to the environment if a spill or leak should occur.

Since it's inception in 1986 the line has grown from the original 110 gallon capacity polyethylene DikeTanks to include smaller sizes based on the original rectangular design and larger sizes made in a cylindrical shape. In 1987 the DikeTank II line was added for those customers that wanted to drain from the bottom of the tank, ( flooded suction). 304 and 316 stainless steel Diked Tanks and the new concept Flooded Suction polyethylene DikeTanks were added to the line in 1998. It is hoped that the Flooded Suction DikeTank line will eventually grow and replace the DikeTank II line.

* Original DikeTanks ( 30, 60 and 110 gal. capacity )

* Cylindrical DikeTanks ( 120 and 175 gal. capacity )

* Larger Double Walled Tanks ( 405,540,1000,2500 gal. capacity.)

* Flooded Suction DikeTank ( 15 gal. & 65 gal. capacity )

* Stainless Steel Diked Tanks ( 30 and 70 gal. capacity with 90 gal. cap. dikes.)

Cylindrical DikeTanks

It became apparent that a larger version of the DikeTank would be necessary for many of our customers. Larger sizes would require much thicker material and would cost significantly more in proportion to their size than the smaller sizes of "Original DikeTanks" so, we made the decision to use a cylindrical shape on all sizes larger than 110 gallons. "Cylindrical DikeTanks" are available in two sizes, 120 gal. and 175 gal. capacity. Both sizes are 34" in diameter and will fit through a 36" wide doorway. The "Larger Double Walled Tanks" must be machine handled and will not fit through a standard 36" door.
